Some pictures...

Getting ready to exercise this morning. I made Hannah take a few shots of me.

Yes, this is the proof. I actually did a push-up!!!

The pig tails were fun. I wanted to get pumped about exercising, and having goofy hair was a simple way to relax, smile, and get movin'!

Hi Bekah,
I found your blog through Grace Mally's (I'm Rebekah in MS) and my mom would like to share with you some suggestions...she's a lifetime Weight Watchers member who has maintained a 45-lb. loss for over 30 years. ~Rebekah~

First, you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you! Are you drinking lots of water? This is extremely important. Also, from what I
read, I'm concerned that you're probably not getting enough protein. To remain at a plateau as long as you have is unusual (I was a Weight Watchers leader for ten years; helping people each week was why I loved that job.) I
think you are a most determined young woman! Sometimes the scale is deceptive. Your clothes will tell you what the scale won't. I'm sure you feel 100% better, along with having more energy and more interest in life. Do you record what you eat each day? Sometimes a food diary will give you clues--you might need more variety, smaller portions, etc. Please keep us posted on your progress. I just wanted to encourage you!

Hi Rebekah (love your name!) and Chris ~

Thanks so much for posting! To answer a few of your questions: yes, I drink plenty of water every day. At least 100 oz. I love it! And you're right, it's very important. If I every need to perk up a little bit, the first thing I do is grab a glass of water - it usually does the trick.

Secondly, I think you're right about the protein. God is so gracious, because as I was spending time in prayer and doing some serious thinking about my "stuckness", the thought that I wasn't getting enough protein popped into my head. And then you "just happened" to comment and suggest the very same thing. Hmm..

My struggle is that I'm not a meat eater at all. I never have been. I used to pick the hamburger/chicken out of almost anything my mom would make. I'm not that bad today, but it still isn't my favorite food item. (I'd much rather spend the calories on homemade bread! lol) I do make sure that I have protein with each meal, but most likely not enough. So, starting on Monday I began recording my meals again and increasing my protein intake. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks. (I do realize that eating meat isn't the only way to get protein. I also eat nuts/seeds, plain yogurt, kefir, cheese, etc.)

Yikes! This comment has almost turned into a post... Thank you for taking the time to write! It's so encouraging to hear from others who have walked this road ahead of me. Blessings to you both!
